Larkin Hoffman Hosts Second Annual Minnesota Surety Conference
Larkin Hoffman hosted the Second Annual Minnesota Surety Conference at its Minneapolis office Oct. 11. The conference, which was presented in conjunction with Minnesota Surety Association, featured presentations on the topics of contracts, claims and bond forms.
Paul Meyer, a member of Larkin Hoffman’s construction and surety practice, and Patrick Ouellet, a consultant with Construction/Claim Assistance Services, spoke to attendees about problematic clauses used in contracts.
Bob Bowman, a surety underwriting manager with Cobb Strecker Dunphy & Zimmermann, led a discussion about developments regarding bond forms.
James Walker, the conference’s special guest and a senior bond claims attorney at Westfield Insurance Company, closed the conference with a presentation on surety bond claims and patterns leading to contractor default.
“It was a great program this year – there was something for everyone,” said David Hammargren, one of the conference’s organizers. “We will all be better able to serve our client contractors and subcontractors.”
