Practice Description
Tara Mattessich is a member of the Tax, Trusts and Estate Department at Larkin Hoffman. Tara counsels clients in all areas of estate planning. She has extensive experience in simple and complex wills; marital deduction planning; credit shelter and bypass trusts; revocable trusts; irrevocable life insurance trusts; prenuptial agreements; powers of attorney; health care directives and health care powers of attorney; guardianships and conservatorships; charitable giving; charitable gift annuities; charitable remainder trusts; charitable lead trusts; business succession planning; family limited partnerships and limited liability companies; fiduciary tax returns; and probate, estate and trust administration.

Tara has substantial experience representing nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.  She counsels clients on a wide array of issues, including compliance with applicable statutes, rules and regulations; adoption and amendment of articles and bylaws; board training and governance issues; application for tax-exempt status; unrelated business income tax; fundraising rules; charitable gambling and raffles; attorney general reviews and investigations; mergers and acquisitions; employee benefits; lobbying restrictions; review and negotiation of commercial contracts; acceptance of charitable contributions; and development of corporate policies.
