EEOC Revises ADA Guidelines
Employment Law Alert: On February 28, 2012, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued revised guidelines for employers addressing veterans with disabilities and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Employers should keep in mind that the EEOC does not establish any laws, and publications such as EEOC guidelines do not necessarily interpret the laws the same way as the courts. Employers are encouraged to seek legal advice with regard to how these laws should be interpreted, but the EEOC guidelines provide a useful reference as to how that agency will interpret those laws.
